Writing For Money

By Mike Johnson

Writing has many personal benefits.

It clarifies thought.
It documents events.
It safely expresses and purges emotions.
It can inspire or mentor others.

But to exchange your writing for money, you have to create value for the person/organization paying the money.

The higher the value, the more you can charge. The more you charge, the smaller the universe of clients willing to pay.

This typically leads to zoning into a specific niche.

This is easier than you imagine. You may already have work, hobby or life experience that makes you an expert on a niche.

If you don’t, you have the ability to interview anyone who IS an expert and sell that information to an audience that needs it.

With practice, experience and desire, you may even evolve into writing for your own markets where the pay is spectacularly higher.
