Roll Play

In the bakery of life, what roll do you play?

Dinner?
Crescent?
Cinnamon?

Are you formal?
Quirky?
Sweet?

You are what you wheat.
You’re defined by how you flour.
Each uses a slightly different mix.

No one arrives rolling in dough.
Your patter is your batter.
Find your best recipe.
Bake it ‘til you make it.

Endeavor to get a little butter every day.
It’s the yeast you can do.
If there’s a will there’s a whey.
Go against the grain.
Deserve the best spot on the shelf.

But knot everyone sees their roll like this.
I wish I had a pumpernickel for every underachiever.

I see bread people.
They don’t even know they’re bread.

They rise.
They loaf.
They mold.

They don’t even realize they can choose what roll they play.
They have no idea they’re not a product, they’re a baker!

They knead this clarity.

Because without it, they’re easy prey for the Anti-Crust.
