The Fortune is Freedom

Ideas are infinite.
Time and energy are finite.

As a Gemini, I suffer from brain storms.
I’m constantly gathering, imagining and evaluating ideas.
In every possible topic.

I just reviewed the contents of four thick idea folders, reading my notes, lists and brainstorms compiled over the past 20 years.
Many ideas are crossed out as completed.
Some were good enough to write on a fresh “best-of” list.

The trouble with realizing you can do anything, is selecting just one thing.
Once you jump in, you’re committed.
And less free than you were before the decision.

Think of it as a free evening.
Do you watch a movie?
Read a book?
Complete some chores?
Research a rabbit hole?
Drive to a restaurant?
Write a post?
Call a friend?
Connect with God?
Tinker with the cello?
Hike with the dog?

Once you say yes to one, you say no to all the others.
I want to do them all!
At the same time!

Now imagine having a free LIFE.
All day, EVERY day is a “free evening.”

Now I can think in terms of days or weeks.
Travel?
Start or buy a business?
Teach a class?
Learn a skill?
Write a book?

Thanks to escaping the chains of work schedules and income generation, I’m drowning in freedom.
But instead of water, I inhale possibilities.
An empty calendar is an embarrassment of riches.

But be careful what you wish for.

Like every aspect of life, the fortune of freedom never stops demanding that you make decisions.
