You Know What Bugs Me?

Surrounded by miracles, like a fish in the ocean, we never even question the water.

A single fly.
One of trillions.
Of just one species, in a world that presents thousands of other types of insects.

Try to make one yourself.
Go ahead, I’ll wait.

The little legs.
The enormous eyes.
The skill of flight.
A perpetual, internal, self-generating energy system.
A brain that responds to its environment and makes decisions.
A reproductive system that births a slightly different copy of itself without any human intervention.
LIFE.

How is that even possible?
On such a microscopic scale?
In such huge numbers?

Yet, we go through our days without even noticing.
Miracles are so common we don't even see them.

We can’t explain or duplicate a single fly.
A blade of grass.
A hummingbird.
The family dog or cat.

Are they “real” or simulation?

It’s much easier to fake a moon landing than to actually do it.
Faking it only takes crude props, film and actors.
No need to create the intricate technology of thousands of moving parts.

It’s far easier to simulate a mountain than actually build one.
Where would you even get all that dirt and rock, let alone move and shape it?

Now imagine creating an entire planet.
Out of nothing?
What the heck?

Or what the hell?

If we’re actually eternal spirits inhabiting a body, might the whole damn world be a massive simulation that only looks and feels real?

Did we willingly select Holodeck #4, did someone else assign it to us, or were we fooled and trapped here by some fallen angels or devil?

Is this a world of miracles or a world of illusion?

The search is fascinating.
But the lack of concrete proof about anything is frustrating.

Lately, it really bugs me.
