Earth is tough duty because nothing is solid.
Scientists have proven that anything physical – a rock, a chair, your leg -- is made of molecules that have more space between them than mass.
Crime, politics and infidelity have proven that smiling faces and comforting lies often hide murder, theft and betrayal.
Multiple religions prove there is no consensus on a clear definition of our Creator, let alone his rules for living.
We arrive with an empty head, ambiguity about what should be used as an operating manual, and billions of human examples as choices to emulate.
All the while, branded by a mishmash of experience that deeply imprints our character, morals and beliefs.
This makes every human being a random wild card, spanning the scale from devil to Christ.
It's amazing we can all live together without killing each other.
Wait a minute...
Nevermind.
Yet faced with this uncertainty about everything, we’ve been given the power to talk.
Uh-oh.
Since nobody can be sure about anything, you’d think we’d choose our words carefully.
Not on this planet, bub.
We talk plenty.
TOO plenty.
With unearned certainty.
But all that speaking adds little clarity to our big mystery.
Most often, the words we share, reveals little about the topic, but much about ourselves.
Through words, everybody, everywhere, every moment, is cavalierly revealing where they reside on humanity’s awareness and intelligence scale.
Knowing this, the wisest people, say the least, while observing the most.
Maybe there is no ultimate truth on this realm because we cannot see all the dimensions involved.
We’re in a cave, interpreting shadows, from a fire of such magical force as to be unexplainable.
The cave just might be our own mind, projecting our own comfortable and habitual thoughts, on the walls of molecules, creating the appearance of truth in our miraculous reality.
Every individual might be creating their own reality, their own truth, on their own attempt to solve the mystery.
Perhaps this is the snag that holds us back.
For most, truth on earth is their selection, rather than an impartial determination.
The courage to question truths we already "know," then becomes the most important step toward ever learning more.
