Job Titles

It took a couple decades for me to realize that a job title is just what I do, not who I am.
Perhaps you figured this out sooner.
I hope so.

Excelling at your job is a blessing and a curse.
The accolades and praise build your self-image with your performance being the bedrock. That’s the blessing.
But lose or quit the job and your self-image is lost too. That’s the curse.

Now you have to start over, building a new self-image on a foundation of something else.

This is also true in marriage, entrepreneurship, wealth and your physical body.

The only bedrock foundation worthy of building upon is your soul.
Spirit is eternal, everything else is temporary.

Seek first the kingdom of heaven and all else is added.
