Population of One

There is only one person in your world.
Your world is so unique, no one else can ever fully live there.

The Beatles, who were adored, followed and copied by millions, knew this well.
No matter how many questions they answered about their haircuts, or songwriting, or girlfriends, their individual souls were invisible, drowned by the mania of “the Beatles.”
In fact, the Beatles quit playing live concerts because people screamed throughout every song, making the music inaudible.
So what was the point?

Jesus, the most concise and articulate speaker of all time, was often frustrated by his disciple’s lack of understanding.
God himself struggled to bring people into his own world.
I’m convinced that if a true recording existed of Christ’s last words on the cross, you’d hear, “You can’t help these people!”

Our worlds are filled with discoveries we’ve learned but can’t convey.
Beauty we create that people don’t want.
Truth that’s obvious that others can’t see.

Earthly partnerships may develop, but only at the level of trade.

Without listeners, there’d be no talkers.
Without readers, there’d be no writers.
Without sex there’d be no husbands.
Without money there’d be no wives.
Without apathy, there’d be no leaders.

At the deepest levels of your physical world, there is only one person.
YOU.

But at the deepest levels of your inner world, there is another.
I suggest you find him.
